2 For the king had taken counsel, and his princes, and all the assembly in Jerusalem, to keep the Passover in the second month.
"Say to the children of Israel, 'If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Passover to Yahweh. In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.
David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader. David said to all the assembly of Israel, If it seem good to you, and if it be of Yahweh our God, let us send abroad everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us; and let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we didn't seek it in the days of Saul.
