9 David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, As Yahweh lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
Into your hand I commend my spirit. You redeem me, Yahweh, God of truth. I hate those who regard lying vanities, But I trust in Yahweh. I will be glad and rejoice in your loving kindness, For you have seen my affliction. You have known my soul in adversities.
This poor man cried, and Yahweh heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of Yahweh encamps round about those who fear him, And delivers them.
But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom; to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
