16 You shall not tempt Yahweh your God, as you tempted him in Massah.
Don't harden your heart, as at Meribah, As in the day of Massah in the wilderness, When your fathers tempted me, Tested me, and saw my work.
Don't harden your hearts, as in the provocation, Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness, Where your fathers tested me by proving me, And saw my works for forty years.
They traveled from Mount Hor by the way to the Red Sea, to compass the land of Edom: and the soul of the people was much discouraged because of the way. The people spoke against God, and against Moses, Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this light bread.
