23 Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he lay even this to heart.
Whoever didn't regard the word of Yahweh left his servants and his cattle in the field.
He said to them, Set your heart to all the words which I testify to you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, [even] all the words of this law.
What is man, that you should magnify him, That you should set your mind on him,
Don't trust in oppression. Don't become vain in robbery. If riches increase, Don't set your heart on them.
Then I saw, and considered well. I saw, and received instruction:
He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck Will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
O Yahweh, don't your eyes look on truth? you have stricken them, but they were not grieved; you have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction: they have made their faces harder than a rock; they have refused to return.
They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.
"I also have withheld the rain from you, When there were yet three months to the harvest; And I caused it to rain on one city, And caused it not to rain on another city. One place was rained on, And the piece where it didn't rain withered. So two or three cities staggered to one city to drink water, And were not satisfied: Yet you haven't returned to me," says Yahweh. I struck you with blight and mildew many times in your gardens and your vineyards; And your fig trees and your olive trees have the swarming locust devoured: Yet you haven't returned to me," says Yahweh. I sent plagues among you like I did Egypt. I have slain your young men with the sword, And have carried away your horses; And I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camp Yet you haven't returned to me," says Yahweh. "I have overthrown some of you, As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, And you were like a burning stick plucked out of the fire; Yet you haven't returned to me," says Yahweh. "Therefore thus will I do to you, Israel; Because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God, Israel.
"Look among the nations, watch, and wonder marvelously; for I am working a work in your days, which you will not believe though it is told you.
