Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said, "I will give this land to your seed{or, offspring}." He built an altar there to Yahweh, who appeared to him. He left from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh, and called on the name of Yahweh.
with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints: on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the Gospel,

Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, To all who call on him in truth.
Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, For his wonderful works to the children of men!
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
> As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants after you, God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?
God said to Jacob, "Arise, go up to Bethel, and live there. Make there an altar to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother." Then Jacob said to his household, and to all who were with him, "Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, change your garments. Let us arise, and go up to Bethel. I will make there an altar to God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went."
There was also born a son to Seth, and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on Yahweh's name.
I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, And will call on the name of Yahweh.
> How lovely are your dwellings, Yahweh of Hosts! My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of Yahweh. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

In this chapter we have a further account concerning Abram.
