2 The comely and delicate one, the daughter of Zion, will I cut off.
The daughter of Zion is left like a shelter in a vineyard, Like a hut in a field of melons, Like a besieged city.
For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, the anguish as of her who brings forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, who gasps for breath, who spreads her hands, [saying], Woe is me now! for my soul faints before the murderers.
Moreover Yahweh said, "Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks and flirting eyes, Walking to trip as they go, Jingling ornaments on their feet; Therefore the Lord brings sores on the crown of the head of the women of Zion, And Yahweh will make their scalps bald."
How has the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger! He has cast down from heaven to the earth the beauty of Israel, And hasn't remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.
