6 The Pharisees went out, and immediately conspired with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
They sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that you are honest, and teach the way of God in truth, no matter who you teach, for you aren't partial to anyone.
They sent some of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to him, that they might trap him with words.
He charged them, saying, "Take heed: beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod."
They have also surrounded me with words of hatred, And fought against me without a cause. In return for my love, they are my adversaries; But I am in prayer.
The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him that very hour, but they feared the people--for they knew He had spoken this parable against them. They watched him, and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.
The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.
