35 Peter said to him, "Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you." All of the disciples also said likewise.
Peter said to him, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."
All the people answered together, and said, "All that Yahweh has spoken we will do." Moses reported the words of the people to Yahweh.
A man's pride brings him low, But one of lowly spirit gains honor.
But Jesus answered, "You don't know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?" They said to him, "We are able." He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it is for whom it has been prepared by my Father." When the ten heard it, they were indignant with the two brothers.
Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn't fall.
So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
