1 Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, But he who hates reproof is stupid.
How love I your law! It is my meditation all day. Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For your commandments are always with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers, For your testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the aged, Because I have kept your precepts.
There is stern discipline for one who forsakes the way: Whoever hates reproof shall die.
Don't be like the horse, or like the mule, which have no understanding, Who are controlled by bit and bridle, or else they will not come near to you.
He who corrects a mocker invites insult. He who reproves a wicked man invites abuse. Don't reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
A senseless man doesn't know, Neither does a fool understand this:
Let me understand the teaching of your precepts! Then I will meditate on your wondrous works.
And say, "How I have hated instruction, And my heart despised reproof; Neither have I obeyed the voice of my teachers, Nor turned my ear to those who instructed me!
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
