6 Throw out lightning, and scatter them. Send out your arrows, and rout them.
I will heap evils on them; I will spend my arrows on them:
I will make my arrows drunk with blood, My sword shall devour flesh; With the blood of the slain and the captives, From the head of the leaders of the enemy.

If a man doesn't relent, he will sharpen his sword; He has bent and strung his bow. He has also prepared for himself the instruments of death. He makes ready his flaming arrows.

Your arrows are sharp. The nations fall under you, with arrows in the heart of the king's enemies.

Ps 144:1-15. David's praise of God as his all-sufficient help is enhanced by a recognition of the intrinsic worthlessness of man. Confidently imploring God's interposition against his enemies, he breaks forth into praise and joyful anticipations of the prosperity of his kingdom, when freed from vain and wicked men.
