10 Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
The mountains shall bring prosperity to the people. The hills bring the fruit of righteousness.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face.
Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed, "Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth, keeping loving kindness for thousands, forgiving iniquity and disobedience and sin; and that will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the children's children, on the third and on the fourth generation."
For Yahweh is good. His loving kindness endures forever, His faithfulness to all generations.
Don't let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness; and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field. The work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever. My people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places.
Only in Yahweh, it is said of me, is righteousness and strength; even to him shall men come; and all those who were incensed against him shall be disappointed.
He has given help to Israel, his servant, that he might remember mercy, As he spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and his seed forever."
Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. Psalm 85
Interpreters are generally of the opinion that this psalm was penned after the return of the Jews out of their captivity in Babylon, when they still remained under some tokens of God's displeasure, which they here pray for the removal of. Psa 85:8-13
