23 and having appointed to them by vote elders in every assembly, having prayed with fastings, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that the things lacking thou mayest arrange, and mayest set down in every city elders, as I did appoint to thee;
which also they did, having sent unto the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
and now, I commend you, brethren, to God, and to the word of His grace, that is able to build up, and to give you an inheritance among all those sanctified.
And from Miletus, having sent to Ephesus, he called for the elders of the assembly,
The Elder to the choice Kyria, and to her children, whom I love in truth, and not I only, but also all those having known the truth,
and the things that thou didst hear from me through many witnesses, these things be committing to stedfast men, who shall be sufficient also others to teach;
Be laying hands quickly on no one, nor be having fellowship with sins of others; be keeping thyself pure;
The well-leading elders of double honour let them be counted worthy, especially those labouring in word and teaching, for the Writing saith, `An ox treading out thou shalt not muzzle,' and `Worthy `is' the workman of his reward.' Against an elder an accusation receive not, except upon two or three witnesses.
And there were gathered together the apostles and the elders, to see about this matter,
And having come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly, and the apostles, and the elders, they declared also as many things as God did with them;
And there were certain in Antioch, in the assembly there, prophets and teachers; both Barnabas, and Simeon who is called Niger, and Lucius the Cyrenian, Manaen also -- Herod the tetrarch's foster-brother -- and Saul; and in their ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, `Separate ye to me both Barnabas and Saul to the work to which I have called them,' then having fasted, and having prayed, and having laid the hands on them, they sent `them' away.
and he appointed twelve, that they may be with him, and that he may send them forth to preach,
And the God of all grace, who did call you to His age-during glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, Himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle `you';
and may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and our God and Father, who did love us, and did give comfort age-during, and good hope in grace, comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work.
and you the Lord cause to increase and to abound in the love to one another, and to all, even as we also to you, to the establishing your hearts blameless in sanctification before our God and Father, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
and thence did sail to Antioch, whence they had been given by the grace of God for the work that they fulfilled;
beginning from the baptism of John, unto the day in which he was received up from us, one of these to become with us a witness of his rising again.'
