7 `When a man doth give unto his neighbour silver, or vessels to keep, and it hath been stolen out of the man's house; if the thief is found, he repayeth double.
if the theft is certainly found in his hand alive, whether ox, or ass, or sheep -- double he repayeth.
They do not despise the thief, When he stealeth to fill his soul when he is hungry, And being found he repayeth sevenfold, All the substance of his house he giveth.
and he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and what things were put in he was carrying.
