28 In the rising of the wicked a man is hidden, And in their destruction the righteous multiply!
In the exulting of the righteous the glory `is' abundant, And in the rising of the wicked man is apprehensive.
They turn aside the needy from the way, Together have hid the poor of the earth.
and presently there smote him a messenger of the Lord, because he did not give the glory to God, and having been eaten of worms, he expired. And the word of God did grow and did multiply,
and in every province and province, and in every city and city, the place where the word of the king, even his law, is coming, gladness and joy `are' to the Jews, a banquet, and a good day; and many of the peoples of the land are becoming Jews, for a fear of the Jews hath fallen upon them.

It is written indeed, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people; but if he be a wicked ruler, that oppresses the people, especially the poor people, robbing them of the little they have and making a prey of them, whatever we may call him, this scripture calls him a roaring lion and a ranging bear.

As Christ shows the absurdity and wickedness of those children who think it is no duty, in some cases, to maintain their parents (Mt. 15:5), so Solomon here shows the absurdity and wickedness of those who think it is no sin to rob their parents, either by force or secretly, by wheedling them or threatening them, or by wasting what they have, and (which is no better than robbing them) running into debt and leaving them to pay it.
