11 Shew me, O Jehovah, Thy way, And lead me in a path of uprightness, For the sake of my beholders.
Thy ways, O Jehovah, cause me to know, Thy paths teach Thou me. Cause me to tread in Thy truth, and teach me, For Thou `art' the God of my salvation, Near Thee I have waited all the day.
And the Lord hath given to you bread of adversity, And water of oppression. And thy directors remove no more, And thine eyes have seen thy directors, And thine ear heareth a word behind thee, Saying, `This `is' the way, go ye in it,' When ye turn to the right, And when ye turn to the left.
as it hath been written in the scroll of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, `A voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, straight make ye His paths; every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low, and the crooked shall become straightness, and the rough become smooth ways; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.'
Then the presidents and satraps have been seeking to find a cause of complaint against Daniel concerning the kingdom, and any cause of complaint and corruption they are not able to find, because that he `is' faithful, and any error and corruption have not been found in him. Then these men are saying, `We do not find against this Daniel any cause of complaint, except we have found `it' against him in the law of his God.'
For Jehovah giveth wisdom, From His mouth knowledge and understanding. Even to lay up for the upright substance, A shield for those walking uprightly. To keep the paths of judgment, And the way of His saints He preserveth. Then understandest thou righteousness, And judgment, and uprightness -- every good path.
Cause me to hear in the morning Thy kindness, For in Thee I have trusted, Cause me to know the way that I go, For unto Thee I have lifted up my soul. Deliver me from mine enemies, O Jehovah, Near Thee I am covered. Teach me to do Thy good pleasure, For Thou `art' my God -- Thy Spirit `is' good, Lead me into a land of uprightness.

Perhaps it was not penned upon any particular occasion; but it is very expressive of the pious and devout affections with which gracious souls are carried out towards God at all times, especially in times of trouble. Here is,
And let our hearts be thus affected in singing this psalm.
A psalm of David.
