1 Samuel 26:17 - And Saul knew David's voice, and said, H559 Is this thy voice, my son David? And David said, H559 It is my voice, my lord, O king.
1 Samuel 26:18 - And he said, H559 Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant? for what have I done? or what evil is in mine hand?
1 Samuel 26:19 - Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, H559 Go, serve other gods.
1 Samuel 26:21 - Then said H559 Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.
1 Samuel 26:22 - And David answered and said, H559 Behold the king's spear! and let one of the young men come over and fetch it.
1 Samuel 26:25 - Then Saul said H559 to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt both do great things, and also shalt still prevail. So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.
1 Samuel 27:1 - And David said H559 in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.
1 Samuel 27:5 - And David said H559 unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?
1 Samuel 27:10 - And Achish said, H559 Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, H559 Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.
1 Samuel 27:11 - And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, H559 Lest they should tell on us, saying, H559 So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.
1 Samuel 27:12 - And Achish believed David, saying, H559 He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
1 Samuel 28:1 - And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said H559 unto David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.
1 Samuel 28:2 - And David said H559 to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said H559 to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.
1 Samuel 28:7 - Then said H559 Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said H559 to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.
1 Samuel 28:8 - And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, H559 I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name H559 unto thee.
1 Samuel 28:9 - And the woman said H559 unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
1 Samuel 28:10 - And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, H559 As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.
1 Samuel 28:11 - Then said H559 the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, H559 Bring me up Samuel.
1 Samuel 28:12 - And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake H559 to Saul, saying, H559 Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.
1 Samuel 28:13 - And the king said H559 unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said H559 unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.
1 Samuel 28:14 - And he said H559 unto her, What form is he of? And she said, H559 An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.
1 Samuel 28:15 - And Samuel said H559 to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, H559 I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.
1 Samuel 28:16 - Then said H559 Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?
1 Samuel 28:21 - And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said H559 unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.
1 Samuel 28:23 - But he refused, and said, H559 I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
1 Samuel 29:3 - Then said H559 the princes of the Philistines, What do these Hebrews here? And Achish said H559 unto the princes of the Philistines, Is not this David, the servant of Saul the king of Israel, which hath been with me these days, or these years, and I have found no fault in him since he fell unto me unto this day?
1 Samuel 29:4 - And the princes of the Philistines were wroth with him; and the princes of the Philistines said H559 unto him, Make this fellow return, that he may go again to his place which thou hast appointed him, and let him not go down with us to battle, lest in the battle he be an adversary to us: for wherewith should he reconcile himself unto his master? should it not be with the heads of these men?
1 Samuel 29:5 - Is not this David, of whom they sang one to another in dances, saying, H559 Saul slew his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
1 Samuel 29:6 - Then Achish called David, and said H559 unto him, Surely, as the LORD liveth, thou hast been upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my sight: for I have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day: nevertheless the lords favour thee not.
1 Samuel 29:8 - And David said H559 unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?
1 Samuel 29:9 - And Achish answered and said H559 to David, I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: notwithstanding the princes of the Philistines have said, H559 He shall not go up with us to the battle.
1 Samuel 30:6 - And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake H559 of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
1 Samuel 30:7 - And David said H559 to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.
1 Samuel 30:8 - And David enquired at the LORD, saying, H559 Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered H559 him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
1 Samuel 30:13 - And David said H559 unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, H559 I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.
1 Samuel 30:15 - And David said H559 to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, H559 Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.
1 Samuel 30:20 - And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, H559 This is David's spoil.
1 Samuel 30:22 - Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, H559 Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.
1 Samuel 30:23 - Then said H559 David, Ye shall not do so, my brethren, with that which the LORD hath given us, who hath preserved us, and delivered the company that came against us into our hand.
1 Samuel 30:26 - And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, H559 Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;
1 Samuel 31:4 - Then said H559 Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.
2 Samuel 1:3 - And David said H559 unto him, From whence comest thou? And he said H559 unto him, Out of the camp of Israel am I escaped.
2 Samuel 1:4 - And David said H559 unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, H559 That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.
2 Samuel 1:5 - And David said H559 unto the young man that told him, How knowest thou that Saul and Jonathan his son be dead?
2 Samuel 1:6 - And the young man that told him said, H559 As I happened by chance upon mount Gilboa, behold, Saul leaned upon his spear; and, lo, the chariots and horsemen followed hard after him.
2 Samuel 1:7 - And when he looked behind him, he saw me, and called unto me. And I answered, H559 Here am I.
2 Samuel 1:8 - And he said H559 unto me, Who art thou? And I answered H559 him, I am an Amalekite.
2 Samuel 1:9 - He said H559 unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
2 Samuel 1:13 - And David said H559 unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, H559 I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
2 Samuel 1:14 - And David said H559 unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the LORD'S anointed?
