4 And he said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who himself gave his word to my father David, and with his strong hand has made his word come true, saying,

He will be the builder of my house, and I will make the seat of his authority certain for ever.
And David said to all the people, Now give praise to the Lord your God. And all the people gave praise to the Lord, the God of their fathers, with bent heads worshipping the Lord and the king.
May the Lord God of Israel be praised, through eternal days and for ever. So be it. So be it.
Make songs to God, you kingdoms of the earth; O make songs of praise to the Lord; (Selah.) To him who goes or the clouds of heaven, the heaven which was from earliest times; he sends out his voice of power. Make clear that strength is God's: he is lifted up over Israel, and his power is in the clouds. O God, you are to be feared in your holy place: the God of Israel gives strength and power to his people. Praise be to God.
Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel, the only doer of wonders. Praise to the glory of his noble name for ever; let all the earth be full of his glory. So be it, So be it.
<Of David.> I will give you praise with all my heart: I will make melody to you before the gods. I will give worship before your holy Temple, praising your name for your mercy and for your unchanging faith: for you have made your word greater than all your name.
Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.
Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has come to his people and made them free, Lifting up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, (As he said, by the mouth of his holy prophets, from the earliest times,)

The words with which chapter five begins are the same with 1 Kings 7:51 and what is contained in that and chapter six is much the same with 1 Kings 8:1 on which see the notes; the blessing of Solomon on the people of Israel, which is there, is here omitted, and two verses are here added, much the same with Psalm 132:8.
