1 And the LORD H3068 called H7121 unto Moses, H4872 and spake H1696 unto him out of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 saying, H559
And Moses H4872 went up H5927 unto God, H430 and the LORD H3068 called H7121 unto him out of the mountain, H2022 saying, H559 Thus shalt thou say H559 to the house H1004 of Jacob, H3290 and tell H5046 the children H1121 of Israel; H3478
And there I will meet H3259 with thee, and I will commune H1696 with thee from above the mercy seat, H3727 from between H996 the two H8147 cherubims H3742 which are upon H5921 the ark H727 of the testimony, H5715 of all things which I will give thee in commandment H6680 unto the children H1121 of Israel. H3478
Then a cloud H6051 covered H3680 the tent H168 of the congregation, H4150 and the glory H3519 of the LORD H3068 filled H4390 the tabernacle. H4908 And Moses H4872 was not able H3201 to enter H935 into the tent H168 of the congregation, H4150 because the cloud H6051 abode H7931 thereon, and the glory H3519 of the LORD H3068 filled H4390 the tabernacle. H4908
And he said H559 unto Moses, H4872 Come up H5927 unto the LORD, H3068 thou, and Aaron, H175 Nadab, H5070 and Abihu, H30 and seventy H7657 of the elders H2205 of Israel; H3478 and worship H7812 ye afar off. H7350 And Moses H4872 alone shall come near H5066 the LORD: H3068 but they shall not come nigh; H5066 neither shall the people H5971 go up H5927 with him.
And Moses H4872 took H3947 the tabernacle, H168 and pitched H5186 it without H2351 the camp, H4264 afar off H7368 from the camp, H4264 and called H7121 it the Tabernacle H168 of the congregation. H4150 And it came to pass, that every one which sought H1245 the LORD H3068 went out H3318 unto the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 which was without H2351 the camp. H4264
Thus was all the work H5656 of the tabernacle H4908 of the tent H168 of the congregation H4150 finished: H3615 and the children H1121 of Israel H3478 did H6213 according to all that the LORD H3068 commanded H6680 Moses, H4872 so did H6213 they.
And when Moses H4872 was gone H935 into the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 to speak H1696 with him, then he heard H8085 the voice H6963 of one speaking H1696 unto him from off the mercy seat H3727 that was upon the ark H727 of testimony, H5715 from between the two H8147 cherubims: H3742 and he spake H1696 unto him.

Commentary on Leviticus 1 Matthew Henry Commentary
An Exposition, With Practical Observations, of
The Third Book of Moses, Called Leviticus
Chapter 1
This book begins with the laws concerning sacrifices, of which the most ancient were the burnt-offerings, about which God gives Moses instructions in this chapter. Orders are here given how that sort of sacrifice must be managed.
Lev 1:1-2
Observe here,
Lev 1:3-9
If a man were rich and could afford it, it is supposed that he would bring his burnt-sacrifice, with which he designed to honour God, out of his herd of larger cattle. He that considers that God is the best that is will resolve to give him the best he has, else he gives him not the glory due unto his name. Now if a man determined to kill a bullock, not for an entertainment for his family and friends, but for a sacrifice to his God, these rules must be religiously observed:-
Lev 1:10-17
Here we have the laws concerning the burnt-offerings, which were of the flock or of the fowls. Those of the middle rank, that could not well afford to offer a bullock, would bring a sheep or a goat; and those that were not able to do that should be accepted of God if they brought a turtle-dove or a pigeon. For God, in his law and in his gospel, as well as in his providence, considers the poor. It is observable that those creatures were chosen for sacrifice which were most mild and gentle, harmless and inoffensive, to typify the innocence and meekness that were in Christ, and to teach the innocence and meekness that should be in Christians. Directions are here given,
