Acts 15:38 - But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and G2532 went not with them to the work.
Acts 15:41 - And he went through Syria and G2532 Cilicia, confirming the churches.
Acts 16:1 - Then came he to Derbe and G2532 Lystra: and, G2532 behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
Acts 16:2 - Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and G2532 Iconium.
Acts 16:3 - Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and G2532 took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
Acts 16:4 - And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and G2532 elders which were at Jerusalem.
Acts 16:5 - And so were the churches established in the faith, and G2532 increased in number daily.
Acts 16:6 - Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and G2532 the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
Acts 16:7 - After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but G2532 the Spirit suffered them not.
Acts 16:9 - And G2532 a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, G2532 saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
Acts 16:13 - And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and G2532 we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
Acts 16:14 - And G2532 a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
Acts 16:15 - And when she was baptized, and G2532 her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And G2532 she constrained us.
Acts 16:17 - The same followed Paul and G2532 us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
Acts 16:18 - And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and G2532 said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And G2532 he came out the same hour.
Acts 16:19 - And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and G2532 Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
Acts 16:20 - And G2532 brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
Acts 16:21 - And G2532 teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
Acts 16:22 - And G2532 the multitude rose up together against them: and G2532 the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
Acts 16:24 - Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and G2532 made their feet fast in the stocks.
Acts 16:25 - And at midnight Paul and G2532 Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
Acts 16:26 - And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and G2532 every one's bands were loosed.
Acts 16:27 - And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and G2532 seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
Acts 16:29 - Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and G2532 came trembling, and fell down before Paul and G2532 Silas,
Acts 16:30 - And G2532 brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
Acts 16:31 - And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and G2532 thou shalt be saved, and G2532 thy house.
Acts 16:32 - And G2532 they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and G2532 to all that were in his house.
Acts 16:33 - And G2532 he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and G2532 was baptized, he and G2532 all his, straightway.
Acts 16:34 - And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and G2532 rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
Acts 16:37 - But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and G2532 now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
Acts 16:38 - And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and G2532 they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.
Acts 16:39 - And G2532 they came and besought them, and G2532 brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.
Acts 16:40 - And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and G2532 when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and G2532 departed.
Acts 17:1 - Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and G2532 Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews:
Acts 17:2 - And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and G2532 three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Acts 17:3 - Opening and G2532 alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and G2532 risen again from the dead; and G2532 that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.
Acts 17:4 - And G2532 some of them believed, and G2532 consorted with Paul and G2532 Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few.
Acts 17:5 - But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, G2532 took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and G2532 gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
Acts 17:6 - And when they found them not, they drew Jason and G2532 certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also; G2532
Acts 17:7 - Whom Jason hath received: and G2532 these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.
Acts 17:8 - And they troubled the people and G2532 the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.
Acts 17:9 - And G2532 when they had taken security of Jason, and G2532 of the other, they let them go.
Acts 17:10 - And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and G2532 Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
Acts 17:12 - Therefore many of them believed; also G2532 of honourable women which were Greeks, and G2532 of men, not a few.
Acts 17:14 - And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as it were to the sea: but Silas and G2532 Timotheus abode there still.
Acts 17:15 - And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and G2532 receiving a commandment unto Silas and G2532 Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.
Acts 17:17 - Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and G2532 with the devout persons, and G2532 in the market daily with them that met with him.
Acts 17:18 - Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and G2532 of the Stoicks, encountered him. And G2532 some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and G2532 the resurrection.
Acts 17:21 - (For all the Athenians and G2532 strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or G2532 to hear some new thing.)
Acts 17:23 - For as I passed by, and G2532 beheld your devotions, G2532 I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
