20 And they rose early H7925 in the morning, H1242 and went forth H3318 into the wilderness H4057 of Tekoa: H8620 and as they went forth, H3318 Jehoshaphat H3092 stood H5975 and said, H559 Hear H8085 me, O Judah, H3063 and ye inhabitants H3427 of Jerusalem; H3389 Believe H539 in the LORD H3068 your God, H430 so shall ye be established; H539 believe H539 his prophets, H5030 so shall ye prosper. H6743
And the head H7218 of Ephraim H669 is Samaria, H8111 and the head H7218 of Samaria H8111 is Remaliah's H7425 son. H1121 If ye will not believe, H539 surely ye shall not be established. H539
Jesus G2424 saith G3004 unto her, G846 Said I G2036 not G3756 unto thee, G4671 that, G3754 if G1437 thou wouldest believe, G4100 thou shouldest see G3700 the glory G1391 of God? G2316
For G1063 G1487 had ye believed G4100 Moses, G3475 ye would have believed G4100 G302 me: G1698 for G1063 he G1565 wrote G1125 of G4012 me. G1700 But G1161 if G1487 ye believe G4100 not G3756 his G1565 writings, G1121 how G4459 shall ye believe G4100 my G1699 words? G4487
Verily, G281 verily, G281 I say G3004 unto you, G5213 He that receiveth G2983 whomsoever G1437 G5100 I send G3992 receiveth G2983 me; G1691 and G1161 he that receiveth G2983 me G1691 receiveth G2983 him that sent G3992 me. G3165
Thou wilt keep H5341 him in perfect H7965 peace, H7965 whose mind H3336 is stayed H5564 on thee: because he trusteth H982 in thee.
And Joab H3097 sent H7971 to Tekoah, H8620 and fetched H3947 thence a wise H2450 woman, H802 and said H559 unto her, I pray thee, feign thyself to be a mourner, H56 and put on H3847 now mourning H60 apparel, H899 and anoint H5480 not thyself with oil, H8081 but be as a woman H802 that had a long H7227 time H3117 mourned H56 for the dead: H4191

Commentary on 2 Chronicles 20 Matthew Henry Commentary
Chapter 20
We have here,
2Ch 20:1-13
We left Jehoshaphat, in the foregoing chapter, well employed in reforming his kingdom and providing for the due administration of justice and support of religion in it, and expected nothing but to hear of the peace and prosperity of his reign; but here we have him in distress, which distress, however, was followed by such a glorious deliverance as was an abundant recompence for his piety. If we meet with trouble in the way of duty, we may believe it is that God may have an opportunity of showing us so much the more of his marvellous loving-kindness. We have here,
2Ch 20:14-19
We have here God's gracious answer to Jehoshaphat's prayer; and it was a speedy answer. While he was yet speaking God heard: before the congregation was dismissed they had assurance given them that they should be victorious; for it is never in vain to seek God.
2Ch 20:20-30
We have here the foregoing prayer answered and the foregoing promise performed, in the total overthrow of the enemies' forces and the triumph (for so it was rather than a victory) of Jehoshaphat's forces over them.
2Ch 20:31-37
We are now drawing towards the close of the history of Jehoshaphat's reign, for a further account of which those who lived when this book was published were referred to an authentic history of it, written by Jehu the prophet (ch. 19:2), which was then extant, v. 34. This was the general character of his reign, that he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, kept close to the worship of God himself and did what he could to keep his people close to it. But two things are here to be lamented:-
